Landscapes, portraits, abstract? In your ideal room or house what kinda paintings would you ordinarily go for?

Well, in our house at the minute we have mainly Mackenzie Thorpes. A Doug Hyde and one by Sheree Valentine.

We also have a few other odd ones.

We have so many limited editions.

Our house is a bit like a mini museum. http://images.digita

Just look at the painters you've mentioned Thomas. Very cute stuff. Nice bright and warm colours.

Yeah we've got some nice pieces James.

A few I've bought as presents for my parents so it is a risk, but they they like them which is the main thing.

I went on the Doug Hyde and the Sheree Valentine. Also bought them a few Mackenzie Thorpes.

What artists do you like James or do you just work on a piece then put them up around your house?

I think people do like portraits of family Stacey. If you develop a name for yourself you can be on commission non stop.

The only thing is it's more exacting then painting your own stuff and developing a style of work that's quick to do. Portraits take longer in general.

I love all sorts of stuff Thomas because I've always thought that art is not an intellectual thing. It's entirely subjective and if you like something, go for it. I love work from all different movements... if it's good in your eyes than it's good.

We have hardly any 'pictures' on walls
In the living room we have a print of a Turner (Venice from the Giudecca), in a nice frame which used to belong to my wife's grandad.

And in the kitchen my wife has framed and hung a few of my pencil-sketches and ink-drawings.

Oh - and there's a big carpet-tapestry landscape picture in the spare-room which belonged to my grandmother.
