Yes, I'm one of those sad feckers who goes to bed early just to get up at this unearthly hour to watch the whole show live. It's an annual thing for me but now I'm a bit peeved cuz apparently the King's Speech is the favourite. Ah well, I dodged the bullet last time around with Avatar losing out so I'll just have to grin and bare this one.

So yeah, anyone else watching?

Look, The King's Speech is a well made and acted film, but I really don't think it's film magic and wont be remembered in the same vein as a few of the runners up. Having said that, Colin Firth was a worth winner and his speech was one of the best of the night, but my favourite moment(s) was how terrible Helena Bonham Carter was incapable of holding back her frustration at not going away with Best Supporting Actress. Honestly, watch her while Melissa Joe got the award - who, incidentally, made a right prat of herself during a bizarre 10 min period where Kirk Douglas hogged the mic and James Franco stood there for the most part like a deer in headlights.
I've loved James Franco since I saw him in City by the Sea but I feel he's done his career damage with his performance as host tonight...... Billy Crystal came on for one segment and I was willing him to stay on with Anne Hatheway -who was great- just to put him out of his misery.
Delighted to see Inception win a fair few technical awards, but I think Nolan's doing a Spielberg on it. The audience will remember you for these flicks buddy but time to make an historical flick.... they fecking love them. As for Fincher - what else can he do? The man is the best director out there but gets nothing. Ridiculous.

Thomas, I can't edit what I said. Get your act together. lol.
Oh, and I was just wondering if John Barry got a good send off at the Bafta's cuz he got a quick glimpse at the Oscars. Tragic.

Didn't I tell you that The Fighter would win for the two supporting actor awards? And they both made me cringe onstage. Melissa was just dreadful and Bale is attempting to undo the damage that he's done to himself by using his English accent again and trying to be so carefree on the stage. Here fella, act on the silver screen and don't try to do a pr number at these ceremonies. Am I being a cynic here? I justdon't buy what he's selling right now. The only thing I will buy is what a fantastic actor he is and totally deserving of his oscar. Exceptional piece of acting.

Christ, James Franco, what have you done? You had it all. Who the feck told him to do it?

At one stage he came on in a dress... pretending to be marylin manroe- with no sketch, except for the fact that he was dressed like her. Yep, do I need to say anymore? I feel sorry for him but more for Hathaway, who had to do it all on her own.

We're not all stoned Franco. It was a major error on the part of the Academy and their writers. That's what I think buy maybe tommorow's newspapers will say differently.

Sorry James, editing of posts isn't allowed by members. http://images.digita

I didn't watch The Oscars. Find it a drawn out and boring event.
