Monumental moment? Yes. Hugely important in forging new Anglo Irish relations? Absolutely.
But the fact remains that this visit corresponds with the biggest bombing in the republic, which happened 37 years ago and was perpetrated by Loyalists - and possibly British intelligence - with the Queen's government never having released secret documents relating to the case, even when people have been appealing for this evidence over the last decade or so.

Now, don't get me wrong: I think it's an important moment in our nations history, but for God sake, talk about a major balls up.

He certainly looked like he would have enjoyed a drop or two of the black stuff, and that's no mean feat considering his age! Fair play to him.
